1. Enter the RDS console using one of the following methods:

(1) Log in at the HUAWEI CLOUD official website, choose Products > Database > RDS for MySQL (for example). Then, click Buy Now.

(2) Log in at the HUAWEI CLOUD official website, click Console in the upper right corner. Choose RDS in the Database category to enter the RDS console and click Buy DB Instance.

2. On the Buy DB Instance page, select Pay-per-use for Billing Mode. (Free Packages can be used only for pay-per-use products.)

Select one of the following regions: AP-Hong Kong, AP-Bangkok, AF-Johannesburg, AP-Singapore.,LA-Santiago, LA-Mexico City1, or LA-Sao Paulo1

3. Configure the DB engine, DB instance type, and AZ.

Note that if you select Microsoft SQL Server as the DB engine, set its version to 2016 Standard Edition.

If DB instances in a region are sold out, you can choose another region.

4. Set Instance Class to 2 vCPUs | 4 GB and Storage Space (GB) to 40. 

5. Click Next and set your database password. (Keep your password secure.)

The price displayed at the bottom of the page is the standard price, but you do not need to pay it if your usage is within the quota covered by Free Packages.

6. Click Next and confirm your configurations. Then, click Submit.

The DB instance will be displayed on the RDS console.

As long as your usage of resources is within the free quota, your account will not be billed. HUAWEI CLOUD will notify you if your quota is to be used up. You can check your resource usage by clicking Billing > Free Packages on the console.
